HearO
Every year hundreds of thousands of tennis ball championships are retired. Instead of disposing or recycling them, which requires significant processing, HearO brings together upcycling and product design by creating a high-quality portable speaker made of a repurposed ball from tennis championships.
The electronic system has been custom-designed to fit within tight space limits and streamlined to operate with a single push button. The manufacturing process has been rationalized to minimize processing and the use of plastic components.
Gennaro Senatore authored the Fibonacci pattern for the holes applied onto the speaker grill, which enables optimal sound projection and it gives the speaker a distinctive look.
